The NanoCMS Community has closed its doors, after a lack of community activity in the forum for an extended period of time. Though each month there is still a reasonable amount of downloads of the core packages and related files. The forum will become read only and no new registrations will be allowed.

I would like to thank Kalyan and Zorchenhimer for their contributions, plus other numerous contributors to the nanoCMS Community over the years.
The forum and its resources will still be available for an unknown period of time, and perhaps one day the doors will open again, but the development and support has ceased from core contributors.

Hi,

I have a problem viewing pages other then the home page when I upload my site to an external server.

Currently, I have a working site on my localhost using both wamp and xampp.

The site is in a subdirectory called nanocms - for testing. As I say all is well, however I tried uploading the site to my hosting provider and now all I get is the home page. When I try to access other pages I get 404 file not found errors and even 403 permission denied errors.

I've been beating my head on my desk trying to solve this issue. The .htaccess file is the common one used by nanocms and as it is in a subdirectory I use the Rewrite Base of /nanocms.

I've searched through the various config files etc with no luck. I can't even access the admin pages for back end admin.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Regards

Hi there.
I am testing nano cms comm. 7 on my local server.

I like the flatfile approach, but I may not be able to actually use nanocms, I'm still playing with it.

The metadata tweak, with the optional code to allow a different set of tags for every page is awesome! Oops, except that when I open the site without a page specified, the index.php file is opened and uses the slug,(content) for the home page, however the index.php does NOT have meta tags associated with it, so the tag values are empty. Of course if I specify opening the site with http://sitename/home, the tags DO have values, because I specified them. A search crawler might not notice that the home page has tag data, as it already looked at that page as index.php. Worrisome, and I am struggling to find a fix.

Next is tinybrowser, which comes up blank, I will be looking at the config files of that to see if I can fix that, not really a big deal.

After that, is that I do not use css, (I know, I know, I understand why they decided to use it, I just hate it, it's silly), and my template resides completely within html code in index.php. My static site uses several different template files that I add content to, by hand. The styles are the same in each template, however the code to make the links work into and out of the sites folders are different depending on what the files do. For instance I have a blog, and that uses a different link code than my stories and poems, and my calendar and forums and photo galleries each have unique code requirements to make them work properly as well.

I have used several SQL powered CMS variations, currently I use PHPFusion, before that I used FlexCMS, (I paid money for that upgrade to the pro version)
and of course before that I was handcoding and adding content by hand.

My current CMS uses such a convoluted template system, that I gave up trying to fix it so it looks and works like my original static site, so i use a supplied template that I hate.

FlexCMS uses obfuscation of code fragments to protect their code from being used by anyone that did not pay for it, and I did manage to get it working and looking very very close to my original static site, but now for security reasons I must upgrade to newest version, and of course, with the obfuscation, all my changes to make things work the way I want will be lost in the upgrade.

I have a serious interest in getting a simple flatfile CMS to behave in a sensible manner. :-)

I think, so far, that nanoCMS may actually have the codebase and hooks that will allow me to get exactly what I want from a CMS.

I really really don't like OOP code either, sorry scripters, I started with machine code in the 70s, I have never seen OOP code that was not more of a mess than procedural code, or that could not be written in procedural code that was much clearer to me.

My help question consists of whether anyone is competent, and interested enough to move this forward.

Thank you!!

I have been searching for an answer to this since I installed Nano, last month. I have everything working the way I want it, using PHP pages that have already been built using Dreamweaver.

The huge issue is that Nano inserts an 'MCE_" or "MCE:" as a prefix to any href source, script, etc. Essentially this has broken every page that my client has tried to modify. Forcing me to restore the backups, overwriting all of my clients recent changes. How can I disable Nano from writing any additional data other than content changes?

Why does this happen anyway? These pages will never validate, let alone work on many browsers.

Hi there,

My goal is to allow my client to edit simple PHP content pages on an existing web page.

Pardon my ignorance, I have been searching the reaches of the web for the last 2 hours, trying to find a solution to this simple problem. NanoCMS seems like the perfect solution for what I need to do but I have hit a snag.

The layout, header and footer, need not be touched, only the content. All content pages are located alongside the layout (index.php) and CSS (style.css) in the server root.

I need to set the pages directory to the root of my server, where all php content files are located. I have tried changing this setting in both config.php and setting.php but have had no luck.

My setting.php looks like this, I have tried dabbling with the config.php also but I'm assuming this is mostly for the operating files of NanoCMS, and not content. Am I doing something wrong?

The original nanoCMS.in forum is back from the ashes!

Kalyan the creator of the nanoCMS package has been fantastic and provided me with the original forum. Showing his commitment to the nanoCMS package and community. Plus showing what a great chap he is.

The old forum will act as a great reference to learn, download and aid your nanoCMS experience. Whilst this forum is for the active community and discussion.

Perhaps one day it will be merged with this forum, but for now the old forum has its new home here: http://www.nanocms.co.uk/legacyforum/

Thank you Kalyan.

I have a few sites that I use NanoCMS on and have had no issues for almost 2 years. Recently one of my sites is having a problem that I can't figure out. All the pages show up in the correct Categories in Pages & Options, however for example http://www.mysite.com/ doesn't point to http://www.mysite.com/home like it used to. I think my pagesdata.txt file is out of whack but I have no idea how to "decode" it to see if I can manually fix the problem.

Is there a link where I can review info on pagesdata.txt?

I did some searches and they all came up with some vulnerability which must for a different version as mine doesn't store the password in this file.
